Early Career
Mayank Yadav made his professional debut representing Delhi against Haryana at the Vijay Hazare Trophy on December 12, 2021. He picked up 3 wickets giving 61 runs in his 10 overs of bowling. He played just 2 matches in that season but added a total of 6 wickets in his two matches with his Best Bowling figures of 3/51.
He also represented Delhi in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in Jaipur on Oct 11, 2022. Interestingly this season of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy was the season where the infamous 'Impact Player' rule which is being implemented in the TATA IPL since 2023 was tested in this very Syed Mushtaq Ali season.
In his debut game for Delhi against Manipur he picked up 2 wickets conceding just 23 runs in his 4 overs. He didn't have an extraordinary start at the SMAT, he had a decent season as he picked 7 wickets in 5 innings with Best Bowling figures of 3/20. But his ability to bowl with sheer pace certainly grabbed many eyeballs and attention.
First Class Debut and IPL 2023 Contract
He played his only First Class match representing Delhi in the 2022 Ranji Trophy season vs Maharashtra. He picked 2 wickets in the first innings and didn't bowl in the second innings. Delhi lost the match and Maharashtra had won the match by 9 wickets.
His first fruit came when he was picked by the Lucknow Super Giants for the Indian Premier League 2023 for ₹20 Lakhs. He didn't get the chance to play the 2023 IPL season as he was surrounded by injuries.
TATA IPL 2024 DEBUT
Finally at the TATA IPL 2024 he made his debut in the Indian Premier League for the Lucknow Super Gaints versus the Punjab Kings. He instantly grabbed attention and eyeballs in front of the cricketing world and it's viewers by his sheer pace as he bowled the fastest ball of the TATA IPL 2024 in his debut match of 155.8 kmph which he bowled to the Indian Batter Shikhar Dhawan.
He had a memorable debut as he picked 3 wickets against the Punjab Kings in Lucknow. His wickets included English Batsman Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh and Jitesh Sharma, he gave away just 27 runs in his 4 overs. This gained him the Player of the Match award for his brilliant bowling performance in his debut match.
Roaring high in confidence Mayank Yadav played his second IPL Match versus the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The LSG had set the target of 182 runs for RCB. What came in between RCB and their win was only one man Mayank Yadav.
Mayank Yadav destroyed the RCB batting lineup by removing Glenn Maxwell for a duck. He then bowled an absolute peach of a delivery which dismissed Cameron Green and then later dismissed the set batter of RCB Rajat Patidar. He then broke his own record of the fastest delivery of TATA IPL 2024 by bowling a fierce 156.7 kmph delivery. Eventually LSG won the match by 28 runs.

Mayank Yadav was again given Player of the Match award for his brilliant bowling spell of 3/14 in his 4 overs. With this Mayank Yadav became the first player in IPL History to achieve back to back Player of the Match awards in his first two games.
